Hi Chris, yeah so basically, i was expecting a +_11hr flight based on recent real world of this route. So pushed back at just before 1am my last night so was expecting to touch down before mid day today. Had a lunch appointment at 12:30pm and the head winds just killed me. At 1pm i was still far off. Just been having a lot of difficultly between VNAV ,VS auti throttle. I jsut couldnt get her down soon enough do came in high on the glide, i would have gone around normally, but was under pressure to complete the flight cause i was now super late for lunch. By the time i managed to actually get autothrottle disengaged and manually fly her, i was too high and was eating up tarmac like a guiness book of records burger eating contest. Only being my 4th proper landing in the 747 lost the perpective of the ground the dropped it ! Gonna do the return this evening, lets see how i go. I do understand if you cannot accept it no hard feelings. But obviously woudnt say no to some leniency.
Hi Dane, Chris has asked me to take over on this one and ive read through all comments from yourself and Chris. Reading your explanation it there is a secondary issue from your landing rate on this pirep, and that would be your AFK. Normally when a flight is flown and the only issue is the landing rate, we would give a member 7 days to refly the flight and retain the hours flown. However that said your AFK is double our acceptable amount, with 5 out of 7 AFKS auto aknowledged. Futhermore your explanation does suggest you departed and left the flight for long periods of time which we do not accept. Please only fly flights you can fully commit to without leaving the PC for longer than an hour, hence our AFK. This is to make sure all flights completed are fair to all our members, and the hours flown reflect their true commitment. Hopefully youll take this one as a learning curve, I can see you return leg was perfect which was good to see! All the best, happy new Year - Ryan
hi ryan thanks for the message, yeah fully understand. The AFKS were an issue too, it was a dud flight. I put my audio so i coudl hear the AFK rings and slept through them. Most def a learning curver and i improved on the return leg drastically. will refly it at the end of the tour. Cheers
